Description and Key Features

• Foliage: The plant is famous for its thick, waxy, heart-shaped leaves. The variegated form features a dramatic contrast between its deep green centers and creamy-white or yellow margins (outer variegation) or, conversely, creamy-yellow centers with green edges (inner variegation).

• Growth Habit: It is a vining plant that can trail from hanging baskets or climb supports like trellises and moss poles. While it can eventually reach lengths of up to 13 feet in ideal conditions, it is notably slow-growing, especially indoors.

• Flowers: Mature, well-cared-for plants may produce clusters (umbels) of small, fragrant, star-shaped flowers that are typically white to pale pink with burgundy or maroon centers.

• Origin: Native to Southeast Asia (including Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia), it thrives as an epiphyte in tropical forests.
